Trey Gunn is probably best known for his time with the British band King Crimson, joining in 1994 and playing with the band until 2004 when the band took one of its regular sabbaticals. Whilst with Crimson Trey Gunn played on the bands latter day releases such as VROOOM and Thrak and was also part of the offshoot Projekcts releases and performances with other members of King Crimson. He has also formed a duo with fellow King Crimson member Pat Mastelotto and they have recorded and performed under the name Tu.
Trey Gunn, whilst working both with King Crimson and many other artists, also recorded and released his own solo albums. The Third Star was Trey Gunn’s second solo album and was originally released in 1996 whilst Gunn was a member of King Crimson. The album features performances by fellow King Crimson member Pat Mastelotto and vocals on one track by Toyah Wilcox.
